Not enough legroom? American Airlines gets sued... and Associated Press messes up!
Isabelle Hontebeyrie
Jerome and Judith O'Callaghan flew on an American Airlines plane and were so jammed that they are now asking for more than $100,000!
The Cook County couple decided to fly American Airlines because of the generous legroom the company advertised.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, they "were so jammed during the nine hours in seats 19A and 19B aboard the Boeing 767, they suffered back and leg pain throughout their vacation and after they got back home."
But the story doesn't end here. Apparently, the couple's medical condition worsened as a result of the flight. WBBM Radio reports "leg space caused severe back pain for Mrs. O'Callaghan and foot pain for her husband. [...] The suit contends the couple complained several times during the flight and was moved repeatedly by airline crew."
But the story still doesn't end here, as the Associated Press continues: "[The suit] says Jerome O'Callaghan's legs were so wobbly after the flight that he tripped at the entrance to the Basilica of St. Paul's in Rome, leading to a broken nose and smashed teeth."
And now, for the real end of the story:
In the story written by the Associated Press, Paris is mentionned at the beginning as the couple's destination. The article ends by stating that "Jerome O'Callaghan's legs were so wobbly after the flight that he tripped at the entrance to the Basilica of St. Paul's in Rome."
Isn't the Eiffel Tower a long way from St Paul's??? Or was the journalist's geography a bit wobbly too? Perharps not enough legroom in AP cubicles! :-)

Hey, if I had a wife that beat me so bad I needed cosmetic surgery, I would make up stories about the cause too.
